===========================================
A day-off is so good... Wake up late, do nothing the entire day... and study a little bit at night, of course, because I have a test tomorrow... again!
Today I used my free time to buy somethings that I was needing. I bought a new pair of tennis shoes, because I couldn't stand walking with my safety boots anymore, with steel toes protection. I didn't want to bring my tennis shoes from Brazil, because they were all fucked up, and I was already thinking about buying new ones here, but I didn't have time until today. That's why I just brought my safety boots... ehehhe
In the shopping mall, I took a picture with these wax statues. They weren't that realistic, but I found it cool! And one more picture, with a football ball (ehehhe) the guys bought. We were thinking about playing today, but we ended up so lazy... =P
More classes, more tests... It's starting to be boring, isn't it? I ended up stopping writing new things... And I almost screwed up on today's test, I got 79% (we are supposed to get 70% to pass)...
But today was John's Birthday, so we had a cake during the class, and we sang "Happy Birthday" for him. The funny thing was yesterday, when we went do buy his cake at the grocery store, they told that 4 guys buying a birthday cake was very gay... ehehhe...
At night, finally a little fun... We were drinking a little bit and playing cards, and after that, we went out to a bar. At the first bar, which one of the guys wanted to go, there were only old and fat girls, really a bad place! Then we decided to search for another place, and at the second bar it was even worse... Full of drunk guys, really depressing. Then everyone forgot about decency, and we decided to go to a strip bar close to here. Then we had fun!
Strip bars here are very different from Brazil, starting by the fact that here we can't touch the girls. But I found it really comic! There was a main stage, where girls come to dance. Then they take off their clothes, except their panties. Then, some guys stay close to the stage, with their hands back, waiting for the girl to come them and do something. Then the girl goes to the guy and starts to rub her breasts on his face, or puts her legs around him and makes some sexual moves, and then the guy puts one dollar in her panties. And it might take about 10 seconds... I don't know why they enjoy that so much, if you even can't the girls... Moreover, there was also what they call "lap dance". You pay 20 dollars to the girl, and she takes you to a hidden place and rubs you with her body for a while. That was a little bit funnier, but not that much, as you can't still touch them... I'd like to show you some pictures of the strip bar, but I wasn't allowed to take pictures there... I tried to take some without flash, but we can see almost nothing on these... Can you see a girl dancing on the middle of the picture? Ahn, another interesting thing was that there were some women at the strip bar, that were paying to rub themselves to the strippers.... They must be some shy lesbians...
And this is a little video from us going to the first bar. Actually, it's not that funny, but I'm posting here just to give an idea about the guys... =D
=================================
No news... Only classes and tests... At least I did pretty well on today's test, I got 97%! =D
It's unbelievable how americans consider themselves as superiors to any other countries... Nothing personal against them, but they talk about this, and make some bad comments all the time, saying that USA is the best country in the world, and that everything different from what they are used to is bullshit. And even worse, they aways treat us foreigners as if we were complete ignorants... If only I was in Brazil...
Hoje fui tentar cortar meu cabelo de novo. E consegui, finalmente!
Falando no John, ele me mostrou uma foto engraçada!
=====================================
Today I tried to have a haircut again. And I got it, finally! Ok, I had to walk even further than the place from yesterday, because that one was fully booked. But it's all right, it worthed the exercise... And here is a picture, so you can see my new haircut. And also you can see John, my roommate.
Talking about John, he showed me a funny picture! I'm posting here, so you can see how is our working suit. When I was in the Airforce, we used to say that we looked like Smurfs. Now, I can say that I was promoted to hydrant... eheheh
Perguntei onde eu poderia achar um lugar pra cortar o cabelo, e me indicaram o caminho: "É logo ali, virando no próximo semáforo."...
============================
Again, no news... Only lots of classes and studies. But today happened something that I really hate here! I asked for a place where I could have my hair cut, and the told me: "It's right over there, after the next traffic light."... I took about half an hour to get there. And the worst thing, they didn't cut my hair, because they decided to shut down earlier than normal, as they didn't have had any clients so far... So, what was I??? Besides, the price of the haircut was 22 dollars, that's an absurd!!! Anyway, I had to come back walking for another half hour... At least I could take this picture of the fire brigade, which is close to my home (really close!).
Ahn, another thing that I saw while I was walking, and I found it really crazy... In Brazil, I've already seen some drive-thru cash machines, but this is ridiculous... The entire bank is drive-thru!!! Can you imagine lots of cars in line, waiting for pay some bills at the bank??? American people really don't leave their car for anything!
Sem muitas novidades hoje... Fiz minha primeira prova aqui, tirei 8.9...
============================
No big news today... I took my first test here, and I got 89%... That's not bad, but most of my mistakes were due to lack of attention, so that's all right... =D As I didn't take any picture today, I'm posting one more from that disco... me and some generic girls... They look so like american people!
Caraca, hoje quase rolou o meu primeiro tornado aqui!!! Então as pessoas começaram a correr pelas ruas, desesperadas!
==========================================
Geez, today I almost had my first tornado here!!! Now there is a very heavy rain, with huge lightining bolts, hail and strong wind! It was kinda funny, we had just arrived from class, and we were going to a restaurant close to here, for dinner. Suddenly, we heard a continuous siren, very loud. Then people on the streets started to run desesperately! When we arrived at the restaurant, everyone was staring at the TV, watching the tornado's news. Then we asked to an waitress about it, and she answered: "That's ok, the tornado must be about 15 miles from here, and it won't be here for the next half hour". It must be normal for them...
I forgot to mention it, but I finished reading "The Da Vinci Code", it's really good! I'm looking forward very much for the movie! And now I'm reading "Angels and Demons", which comes before "The Da Vinci Code". It's also pretty cool, but their stories are very similar... Ahn, and I also read "Rich Dad, Poor Dad", on my flight from Brazil to here. It's really good, gives a notion about how to make your money stands longer.
And at the same moment I was writing this, the light transformer on the backyard of my apartment started to burn, and of course I had to take a picture of it. An just after I took a picture, it exploded!!! It was really bizarre! I should have recorded it... We even had a firemen truck here!
É meio estranho imaginar coelhos aparecendo no jardim assim, do nada...
Ehehe...
===============================================
Finally a day-off! I know I should be studying a little bit today, but as I'm advanced with my exercises, I decided to take this as a free day, to have fun and rest a little bit...
During the morning, we went out for a kart racing, it was awesome! These little cars could reach 50 miles per hour, and it was great to give it a full gas! And, not being modest, I have to say that the guys here were really impressed with me... Eheheh... It's because I used to race with my friends in Brazil, so the skill difference between me and them was really big. I could pass everyone so easily... Ehhehe... Ahn, and before we went out, I saw another animal from the usual fauna here, a little rabbit! It's kind of weird to think about rabbits showing up in the garden from nowhere... And to complete the list of different animals, there was a little goat close to the kart circuit, and they told me it's usual here.
When we come back from kart, we went to have lunch at "Hooters", what is an american slang for "breasts". So, this restaurant chain is famous here in USA because of its cute waitresses, who work wearing small shorts and low-cut blouse. Of course I had to take a picture with one of them!
Also today happened something that I wasn't expecting... I was going to talk with a braziliand guy, and it was difficult for me to speak in Portuguese! I had to think to be able to talk, it was bizarre! And even more strange because it doesn't happen when I'm writing. I hope I can still talk in Portuguese when I go back to Brazil... Ehehhe...
Hoje começaram as aulas práticas.
=================================
Today we started to have our hands-on classes. No news, but I really enjoyed this, because I'm learning what is important for my job. And just to keep the tradition, one picture of us having lunch, everyone wearing coveralls! Ahn, I have news indeed! I've received my first salary from the company, it's really a good reason to be here! Eheheh...
At night, it was my first time at a disco here in USA. It was pretty cool, but of course I had to notice some weird things there too... Women here dance much more obscenely than in any usual disco in Brazil. They scrub themselves in other guys, as if they were having sex without taking off their clothes! But no one kisses, that's all! I can't understand...
Another interesting thing: at the disco, there was a girl with a balloon shaped as a huge dick, dancing among people (I don't even need to tell you what the girls were doing with that big dick, do I?). And she was using a veil on her head, also with a dick on it. Later, they told me it was a bachelor party to her, and then I could understand what was happening... eheheh...
Muito show!!!
==========================
One more class day, one more "weird things" day. Americans found it very weird the fact that I brush my teeth after lunch... When I'm going to the restroom carrying my toothbrush, or brushing my teeththere, everyone was looking at me like I was an ET! They thing that brushing our teeth 3 times a day is too much! Can you believe it?
Today I saw an squirrel!!! I've never seen one before in my entire life, only on TV! And Of course I had to take a picture! Eheheh... And here is the picture, so you can see how it's so cute... =D
At night, we went to have dinner at a japanese restaurant, one of those that the cooker cooks in front of you. It was really great!!! I'm posting here one picture and one small video of him cooking for us, it was really funny! Ok, the guy wasn't really japanese, but he was so cool! And also there is a picture of me with the waitresses, just for keep my tradition... eheheh...
