Treinamento no Rio - Training course in Rio de Janeiro

Depois de muito trabalho, rolou um treinamento no Rio, que serviu um pouco pra relaxar, desestressar e curtir! A gente ficou num hotel muito show na Barra, de frente pra praia, com tudo o que tinha direito!

O treinamento era sobre gerenciamento de pessoas, liderança, motivação... essas coisas de RH. Mas foi muito bom, era super dinâmico e muito interessante, a gente aprendeu um monte! E é claro que durante a semana inteira rolou baladas todo dia, pra aproveitar bem a estada no Rio, fechando a semana com um show do Chiclete com Banana! Pena que uma semana passa rapidinho...

After lots of work, we had a training course in Rio de Janeiro, what was very good to relax, relief all the stress and have some fun! We stayed in a very good hotel in Barra (one of the best districts from Rio), in front of the beach, with everything we wanted!

The training course was about people management, leadership, motivation... lots of these kind of HR things. But it was very good, very dynamic and interesting. We learned a lot! And of course we went out every day from the week, to take advantage from staying in Rio de Janeiro, finishing with a concert of "Chiclete com Banana" ("Chewing Gun and Banana", it's a very famous band in Brazil). I'd like to have a longer week than just 7 days...

Fim de semana no Rio - Weekend at Rio de Janeiro

Esse fim de semana fomos para o Rio, para pegar uma balada... Sábado à noite fomos pra Nuth, na Barra, e foi bem legal, nos divertimos pra caramba! E no domingo, peguei o Thomás no aeroporto, e fomos almoçar no Porcão... almoço de patrão, como disse o Cadu... eheheh... Coloquei umas fotos pra animar esse post!

Last weekend we went to Rio de Janeiro, to have some fun... Saturday night we went to the Nuth, a very good night club. It was pretty cool, we had lots of fun! And on Sunday, I picked Thomás up in the airport, and we went for lunch at the Porcão, a very good steak house here in Brazil. It was a Bosses' Lunch, as Cadu said... ehehhe... I put some pics here to show you guys!

Novo recorde - New record

Essa semana consegui mais um recorde de horas acordado trabalhando... 92!!!! Eu sei que é difícil de acreditar, mas realmente aconteceu. Pra não dizer que não dormi nada, eu devo ter dado umas pescadinhas de 10 minutinho durante o trabalho, mas nada que pudesse descansar meu corpo, e principalmente a minha mente... Tá ficando foda isso aqui...

Last week I got one more record about awaken hours working... 92!!! I know that's difficult to believe, but it really happened. Just not to say that I haven't slept at all, I might have nodded for 10 minutes a few times during the job, but nothing that could give some rest to my body and specially to my mind... Things here are getting pretty tough...

No news, good news....

Sem novidades, só muito trabalho e poucas folgas como sempre... Desde que eu comecei a escrever no blog, os fatos diferentes têm caído drasticamente, então decidi só postar algo realmente novo aqui (desde que eu tenha tempo, lógico...). Isso pode implicar em longos períodos sem novos posts, mas acho que o objetivo inicial deste blog foi atingido (que era de mostrar a vida na Schlumberger pra quem está do lado de fora).

No new, just lots of work and only a few days off, as usual... Since I started this blog, the crazy different things have been reducing drastically, so I decided only to post something really new here (as soon as I get enough time to do that, of course...) This can imply on long periods without any new posts, but I think that the initial objective of this blog was achieved (which was showing the Schlumberger way of life to outsiders).

Outro trabalho internacional - One more international job

Sem muitas novidades, só trabalho e mais trabalho... Mas essa semana fiz um trabalho pra um outra empresa internacional, chamada Devon. Nada muito diferente, mas é legal pegar experiência com clientes diferentes. Ahn, e outra coisa que aconteceu recentemente... Tirei o dente do ciso aqui em Macaé e só tive problemas (10 dias com dor!!!). Pra resolver a minha situação tive que ir tratar em São Paulo. Dentista aqui nunca mais!

No big news, just work and work... But last week I did a job for another international company, named Devon. Not that different, but it's good to get experience with different clients. Ahn, and another thing that happened recently... I removed my wisdom teeth here in Macaé, and got lots of trouble (10 days full of pain!!!). To solve it, I had to go to São Paulo. Denstist here never more!

Formatura do Matheus - Matheus' Graduation Party

Essa semana tirei dois dentes do ciso, e aproveitei pra ir pra Piracicaba, pra formatura do Matheus. Foi bem legal, mas deu saudades da minha formatura também... Bons tempos a época da faculdade...

Last week I removed two of my wisdom teeth, and then I spent a few days in Piracicaba, my home town, and I could attend to Matheus' Graduation Party. It was pretty cool, and it reminded me of my own Graduation Party... I miss the good times from university...

De volta ao trabalho - Back to work

Voltando ao Brasil, nada de descanso, nem tive tempo de atualizar o Blog... Desde que cheguei, fiquei praticamente o tempo todo embarcado, só uns 5 ou 6 dias em terra em um mês e meio!!! E mais um recorde, 28 dias embarcado direto! Tou começando a pensar seriamente nas minhas férias... Pra lembrar de como estava bom em Las Vegas, um video de uma apresentaçãozinha em frente a um cassino lá.

Back to Brazil, no rest at all, I even didn't have enough time to update mu blog... Since I came back, I've been almost everyday offshore, I just had 5 or 6 days onshore in one month and a half!!! And one more record, 28 days offshore straight! I'm starting to think seriously about my vacations... To remember how fun it was in Vegas, a little video of a show in front of a casino there.

Final do curso - End of course

Dessa vez, o curso aqui nos EUA foi muito mais tranquilo, dá pra perceber pela foto... ehehhe... Deu tempo de sobra pra sair com a galera, descansar e se divertir. Um dia fomos numa dessas boates country, em que todo mundo fica dançando igualzinho na pista, até que foi legalzinho (mas depois de um tempo enjoa...). E claro, não podíamos deixar de comparecer no kart! Nesse dia eu tava com mais dois amigos meus do ITA, que também trabalham nessa empresa, e por coincidência estavam fazendo curso lá também, na mesma época que eu. Bons tempos...

This time, the course here in USA was much easier, you can realize that by the picture... ehehhe... We had lots of free time to go out, rest and have fun. One day we went to one country club, where everyone dances the very same steps on the dance floor, it was pretty funny (but it gets boring after a while...). And of course we had to go karting! At this day, I was with two friends from my university, that also work for this company, and by coincidence they were there attending to a training course too, at the same time as me. Good times...

Terceiro dia em Las Vegas - Las Vegas day three

No último dia em Las Vegas, a gente tentou ir na "Pool Party" (festa na piscina) no Hard Rock Cafe, mas não deu... Antes eu não pude entrar na boate porque não tinha sapatos, e dessa vez a galera não pôde entrar porque estavam usando calças, eu era o único de bermuda, e era obrigatório estar de bermuda pra entrar... ehehhe... Mas foi uma pena, porque pela espiadinha que eu dei, a festa tava bombando!!!

Depois disso, demos mais umas voltas pela Strip e pelos cassinos, e então fomos a uma outra apresentação do Circo de Soleil. Apesar de a outra ter sido melhor, essa aqui também foi espetacular! E dessa vez, como eu não estava tão perto do palco, consegui filmar um pouquinho, então tou colocando um videozinho aqui pra vocês terem uma idéia.

Saindo do Circo de Soleil, andamos de novo pela avenida e vimos uma apresentaçãozinha que tava rolando em frente a um dos cassinos, chamado "Treasure Island" (Ilha do Tesouro), que tinha um navio pirata na frente. Foi legalzinho, levando em conta que tava cheio de mulheres gostosas no navio... ehehhe... E depois disso, partimos de volta pra Tulsa, muito animador depois de um fim de semana como esse em Las Vegas.

In our last day in Las Vegas, we tried to go to the "Pool Party" at the Hard Rock Cafe, but we couldn't get in... Before, I couldn't get inside the night club because I wasn't wearing social shoes, and this time the guys couldn't get inside because they were wearing long pants, I was the only one wearing short pants, and it was mandatory to be able to get in... ehehhe... It really sucked, because as I could take a little look inside, the party was great!!!

After that, we took a look around the Strip and the casinos, and then we went to another Cirque du Soleil show. Despite the other one being better, this was still spetacular! And this time, as I wasn't so close to the stage, I could make some movies, then I'm posting one here so you can have an idea on how is it.

Leaving the Cirque du Soleil, we walked again on the avenue, and saw a little show that was going on in front of one casino, called "Treasure Island", which had a pirate ship in front of it. I was kind cool, specially because there were lots of hot chicks on it... ehehhe... And after that, we left, going back to Tulsa, very exciting after such weekend in Las Vegas.

Segundo dia em Las vegas - Las Vegas day two

Saímos pra dar uma volta pela Strip, e então fomos ao Bellagio, onde tava tendo o show "O" Cirque du Soleil, aquela apresentação aquática muito famosa do Circo de Soleil. Mas quando chegamos lá, os ingressos já estavam esgotados por uma semana. Se a gente quisesse, tinha que esperar pra ver se haveriam desistências na hora da apresentação. Então tivemos que esperar por 3 horas na fila, mas no fim das contas conseguimos ingressos pra lugares pertinho do palco! E o show foi excelente, a melhor apresentação que já vi na vida!!! Foi uma pena que eu não pude tirar fotos...

Depois do show, a gente tava afim de ir na balada. Mas como eu não tinha sapatos, fomos procurar em um shopping lá da strip. No caminho, achamos a loja da Playboy, mas não havia nada de mais, só roupas e acessórios (nenhuma coelhinha!!!)... Continuando ao procura por sapatos, é óbvio que só achei sapatos caríssimos (o mais barato era 150 dólares), e não era isso o que eu tava procurando só pra uma balada... Então fomos no Wal-Mart, e achei um sapato show por 25 dólares... ehehhe... Depois disso pudemos ir pra balada, e saindo da balada vimos o Clube da Playboy! Eu tava doido pra entrar lá, mas já tava fechando, então não deu nem pra ver... Fica pra uma próxima...

We went for a walk around the Strip, and then we went to the Bellagio, where there was the show "O" Cirque du Solei, that famous aquatic presentation from them. But when we got there, the tickets were all sold out until the next week. If we wanted, we would have to wait up to the show time, to check for any desistance. so we waited for 3 hours in the queue, but in the end fortunately we got tickets for seats very close to the stage! And the show was excellent, the best presentation I had ever seen in my life!!! It was a pity that I couldn't take pictures...

After the show, we wanted to go to a night club. But as I didn't have any social shoes, we went to look for some in a shopping mall on the Strip. On our way, we found the Playboy store, but it wasn't a big deal, just clothes and accessories (no bunnies at all!!!)... We kept looking for shoes, and of course I only found very expensive ones (the cheapest was 150 dollars), and that wasn't what I was looking for just for one night... Then we went to the Wal-Mart, and I found a very good pair of shoes for 25 dollars... ehehhe... After that we could go to the night club, and after leaving the night club, we saw the Playboy Club! I really wanted to go there, but it was closing by that time, so we couldn't check it out... Well, next time...
